Stanley No. 95 Edge Trimming Plane
We’re not big on positing types for planes (see note on website), but this seems to be pretty unambiguously a type one with the Bodmer patent date on the front of the casting. It also has that particularly old-timey font for the Stanley No. 95 on the other end of the casting, which tells us something. Namely, that this plane is most likely “old.” Some japanning loss on the high points. Overall a really sweet example (not Sweetheart, just sweet) of the first version of this little-made specialty plane. Completists, don’t worry about looking for the left-hand version to pair with it. This guy is a complete set of one. Stanley never made a left-hand model.
