We were torn for a minute over whether the japanning had been "enhanced," but ultimately we think it’s probably original, just really well preserved. You can come to your own conclusions on that one. If you disagree with us, you're wrong. But you’re allowed.
In other news, the rosewood furniture on this 604 is A-mazing. So’s the patina—buttery comes to mind.
And huge bonus, it’s a Sweetheart era plane with a partial decal on the tote. The only thing amiss is the cutting iron, which has a later logo on it (notched rectangle, made in USA, no heart), meaning this isn’t the plane’s first iron.
