We just got done raving about a No. 3 and proclaiming it the best-size smoother and now we’re here with this No. 4 kinda worried it overheard us and got its feelings hurt. This must be what it’s like when you’re a parent who likes one of your kids better than the others and feels totally awful about it, even though the other kids are annoying little punks. Wait, that didn’t come out right. We didn’t mean to imply that the No. 4 is an annoying little punk. Ugh. This is one of those less-is-more situations when it’s better to shut up.

Practically perfect No. 4. Probably the best nickel plating on a lever cap that we’ve seen on anything other than new-old-stock. Thick casting, tight mouth (stop giggling), and pristine furniture. Lifetime user, easily.
