Cutaway Stanley No. 2
Maybe we’ve been living in a cave (we have; it’s cozy), but we don’t recall seeing a cutaway demonstration model of a Stanley No. 2 plane before. Cutaway No. 4s, 3s, others, sure. But this is the first No. 2 cutaway demo we’ve seen. Likely a salesman or educational model. In either case, used to give a direct view of the setup, adjustment, and cutting action of the plane.
This one’s in fantastic condition, and everything functions as it should. The one oddity is a “blob” for lack of a better term, on the back of the lever cap, which seems to be a casting anomaly of some kind. Blob aside, really nice demo model.
